Download Custom Watch Face for Mi Band 5
In order to download the custom watch faces on your Mi band, you need to use the Amazfit Watch Faces website . This website allows the users to create, edit, and change a variety of watch faces for your Mi band 5.
Here are the steps which you need to follow in order to install the custom watch face:
Step 1- Go to AmazfitWatchFaces and download any watch face in the format of a .bin file in your smartphone.
Step 2- Now, you must select one of the watch faces from the Mi Fit application and apply it.
Step 3- Now sync your Mi Band 5 with the watch face that you selected. This will allow the Mi Fit app to create a folder containing the .bin file which contains the information for the watch face which you have applied.
Step 4- Now you need to go to the Internal Storage of your phone.
Then go to Android-> Data-> com.xiaomi.hm.health ->files->watch skin on your phone’s file Explorer. There will be different files of the watch faces which you have downloaded from the Mi Fit app with weird naming conventions.
Note – These folders include a preview picture of the watch face, a .bin file, and an XML file.
Step 5- Now, you must transfer the .bin file of the custom watch face you downloaded to one of the Mi Fit watch faces folders stated in step 4, rename the old file, and replace it with the new one. Basically you have to rename the new custom watch face with the same name of the old one which we are replacing.
Step 6- Select the Watch face we replaced in the Band Displays area of Mi Fit. It has the same preview image as the one which we have replaced in step 4 and push sync now; the new custom watch face will be applied.
How To Edit/Create New Watch Face for Mi Band 5?
Firstly, download this PC software which is available at AmazfitWatchFaces for editing the .bin files that include our watch faces.
Now, to edit/create a watch face, follow these steps mentioned below:
Step 1- Choose a watch face you like from the AmazfitWatchFaces website or from the Mi Fit application and download it.
Step 2- Now open the .bin file with the Amazfit Watch face PC software downloaded earlier. To implement this simply select the bin file and drop it over the software .exe file or you can also right-click on the bin file and select ‘Open with’ option and choose the software.
Step 3- A folder will open in a new window of the software. In this folder, there are small photos, including all of the watch face’s parts, as well as a .json file.
We’ll make our watch face by changing these photos with the ones we apply.
Step 4- The background picture has the symbol and the dots that usually divide the hours and the battery percentage, if the watch face originally had it so it is important to take this factor into account while adding the background image.
Step 5- It is very important to know that whatever picture we choose to replace the original with, it must have the same pixel size as the replaced one.
Step 6- Now you can create your icons, numbers, and backgrounds, or use those from other themes to replace them.
Step 7- After you’ve changed what you want, you’ll need to drag and drop the .json file into the .exe program you downloaded. If you followed the steps correctly, a new.bin file would be created with our modifications.
Step 8- Now replace that.bin file with a Mi Fit one from the previous step and sync!
Using Mi Fit App
Follow the steps below to change the watch faces using Mi Fit app:-
Step 1: Firstly open the Mi Fit app and go to the “Profile” section.
Step 2: From the Store in the Mi Fit App and choose a Watch Face of your liking and download it.
Step 3: Make sure that the bluetooth is turned off.
Step 4: Now go ahead and sync your watch face by pressing the “Sync watch face” button.
Step 5: Now go to “Android” -> “data” -> “com.xiaomi.hm.health” -> “files” -> “watch skin local” -> “58” in your File explorer App.
Step 6: Now rename the custom bin file as the one which was originally downloaded by the mi fit app and replace it in the Watchface folder.
Step 7: Turn on the Bluetooth.
Step 8: Return to the Mi Fit App and choose “Profile” -> “Mi Smart Band 5” -> “Store.”
